3 new babies on the farm! All hatched on site! Duckling is pekin mallard cross and the 2 chicks are naked neck silkies!

We have a new baby! Egg was sat on by a broody hen and then one of her clutch hatched and she gave up! This was one of 3 that survived after a night in the cold out of about 9 eggs! She is so tiny 😍🥰

We also received 3 chicks from a neighbor they are Ameraucanas who will hopefully give us beautiful BLUE eggs!

UPDATE! The four silkie chicks that were hatched early April are 4 weeks old! They are coming into there own little personalities and features, it is so cute! Though they are still nameless right now, my kids have been begging to give them names so those will be in the next update in the coming week! 😍 the small brown "twins" are timid and shy, the white fluff butt is super curious and wants to know what is going on all the time when the top is opened up, and last but certainly not least is the afro gal, who is at the top of the pecking order and was the first born of the crew!

The babies are hatching! So far 4 out of 7 have hatched and are alive and fluffing up. Unfortunately we lost 1 to not being able to hatch properly and 1 never even started to develop, so we just have 1 left to hatch! Still moving in the egg and trying to pip the shell!

Anyone interested in fertile duck eggs and/or ducklings, putting feelers out there and taking orders! They are Pekin mallard cross. They are a great laying breed and we have been getting eggs all winter! PM me for more info 😊
