Ayars Family Farm Ice Cream

We are lifelong dairy farmers who have stood the test of time working and caring for our cows. Many of our flavors are named for some of our memorable cows.

Our ice cream is produced on the farm with the milk of our Guernsey cows. Special attributes of our Guernsey cow milk are sealed into every pint of ice cream we make. Guernsey milk contains 12% more protein, 30% more cream, 33% more vitamin D, 25% more vitamin A and 15% more calcium than average milk. The unique qualities of Guernsey milk, especially flavor, have always been recognized. Our "Gue

rnsey Ladies" enjoy grazing and receive special care in a large barn. All of our ice cream is made in small batches and is hand packed. It takes additional time to incorporate this process, but we feel such an effort is worth it. With the first taste, you will notice the creamier texture and rich flavor.

When I was a kid, it was a sure sign of spring when my mother would make a Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I recall my surprise when she would flip the pan to a perfect alignment of slices of pineapple, and cherries on top of a yellow cake.
Our newest flavor for spring wraps those flavors together in an ice cream. If you enjoy pineapple, you will find pleasure in every bite. And yes, we have had a cow named Pineapple!

Good news for those of you who live in the Springfield area!
Today we welcomed Harmony Market as a location where our ice cream will be offered! Pictured here is our very first delivery with Heather(one of the owners)! It is a pleasure to be associated with such a successful and unique market.

Day 2 of our yard/estate sale. We have sold many items to pleased customers, but there is so much to pick from and all furniture is reduced. These are not “worn out” items. All are in wonderful condition. Why don’t you stop by and see for yourself.

It may take a village to raise a child but a visit to a working farm can teach them about agriculture. Over the course of 6 days, we welcomed nearly 500 Fairbanks Elementary students to our farm. We packed in as much as we could about our lifestyle. They met and touched some famous cows like Buckeye Bessie, Honeybun, and Bravo. They fed baby calves, milked a cow, and sampled all the sights, sounds, and aromas of a dairy farm. What a journey of adventure and discovery!
Lily Marsh and Julie Headings (both OSU students) skillfully assisted in extra activities like making butter and milking the “special cow!” And what trip would be complete without our Ayars Family Farm Ice Cream. Many thanks to Kendra Elliott (School Counselor), teachers and parents for trusting us to “show and tell” on this special journey!

It is THE day for so many historic moments! As I now turn my attention to the Chamionship Game, our newest flavor will be titled “Scoop and Score” in honor of Jack Sawyers remarkable play and the entire team!

At Yutzy’s Farm Market, make sure you pick up some pumpkin ice cream. It is only available a short while and at the end of a large meal, it could be just what your guests need till you cut the pie!

Introducing a new flavor……..BROWNIE COW!
It is chocolate, marshmallow cream, and brownie chunks!
Actually named for one of our cows who was nearly a solid color of golden brown, except for a white spot on her head. She was “Miss Congeniality” in our herd a few years ago and a daughter still remains. She was a special Guernsey and she deserved her name on our carton! Enjoy the taste and the flavor.

Football season is upon us! I have been humming “Hang on Sloopy” while making our “Buckeye Bessie” ice cream. It has chopped up Buckeyes swirled through a base of peanut butter and caramel. No tailgate party will be complete without this spirited flavor!

July is National Ice Cream month but it is also peach season. Celebrate both by scooping up a big dish of our “once a year” flavor! Made with fresh peaches, the texture and flavor are quite a combination!

I am going crazy over this flavor, “Banana Pudding.” Now if you are not a fan of this fruit, just pick another flavor today. It has real bananas mixed in with brown sugar and then a bit of crunch in the fine graham crackers dispersed throughout. It is my favorite treat after barn chores!
All our flavors are made fresh on the farm and all our windows provide a view of grazing cows!
