Just your friendly neighborhood farm that has adapted to change. Once a prosperous dairy farm, Basehore Farm has evolved and begun to practice new avenues of farming. When the cows were sold in 1998 dairy farming was becoming difficult. Seeing an opportunity a few years down the road, we began growing produce and selling it out of our market. Each year we would continue to gain customers and have

the ability to expand our market. We now have a greenhouse and sell christmas trees in the winter season. We open in the spring with spring produce and flowers, as we transition to summer our produce changes. As we near halloween we get busy with pumpkins and all the items that pertain to fall. We are then typically closed January, February and March. We hope to see you on our farm soon!

A video update as we near the end of August.

Our homegrown asters are now out front of our store for sale! A bright purple flower with tons of young buds, grown from little baby plugs right here on the farm.

Tons of local watermelon. I cut one in the video for you all to see the proof. We have them available whole, or cut in halves and quarters. Everyone wants the taste of an August melon all year round and that simply doesn’t happen, so stop in and get one while the good local ones are in season!

We still are loaded with fresh, Shippensburg grown tomatoes, that cut red to the core. We also still have a great stock of Kate sweet corn which has been sweet as can be.

I’ve seen a lot of mums advertised, while I understand folks trying to get an early jump on fall sales, we tend to think they are a FALL flower. We grew about 4000 of them this season and assure you we will have tons.

Pumpkins, mums, gourds are cornstalks are happening soon, but enjoy some of the best tastes of summer with us while it’s still in season!

August gives us the best of the best for summer produce. We still have amazing sweet corn & tomatoes. The cantaloupe and watermelon are still cutting great!

It may be one of the last weeks with peaches, BUT we got fresh figs in today!

If you have a couple spring flowers that are starting to look sad we got some fresh zinnias in this week that can be a quick pop of color!

August is PA produce month. While the shelf’s are filled with some of the season’s best make sure to STOCK UP!! I know I am.

The sweet corn variety is Kate for this weekend and it’s amazing. Sweet and tender. The tomatoes, well they are red the whole way through and juicy. Local watermelon and cantaloupe stocked up too.

Shop local, it’s simply better.

We are open today (Saturday the 8th) til 5pm… tomorrow Sunday (the 9th) we will be here noon - 4pm.

Our summer bash is tomorrow! This is our next vendor day / open house!!

The upstairs of the barn will be open and packed with vendors. We will have vendors in the hog pen as well as under the pavilion.

We have multiple food trucks joining us, along with 30 or so others sharing their products & Megan from Double Vision will have some animals down here on display!

Our store will be open normal Saturday hours which is 9-5, the vendors are here 9-3.

The weather looks beautiful! Stop in and shop & support our small farm along with many other small businesses. We are blessed to be able to share our space with others with the same common goal of building a better community.
