Couldn’t help but show off a few glamor shots from our recent brand shoot! Our Marans continue to be one of our best sellers and we understand why! The beautiful Maran hens, chocolate egg colors in the nesting box, and the vibrant colors in the handsome (and oh so friendly!) roosters make it an easy favorite all around.

Thanks Stef Lytton for documenting all their beauty!

We have more to share in the next few weeks so stay tuned for more updates from us and our day to day at Rooster Cat Hatchery. We are excited for what is to come!

When you buy hatching eggs or day old chicks from our “Multi-Gen” olive egger lines, this is the end goal. Shades of greens and a variety of speckles that give you something to talk about and show off to other egg color connoisseurs. 🫒🥚🤎💚

Still looking to add to your flock? Our fall hatch is still on going for a few more weeks!

One thing we love about our Welsummers is how much variety you can get in a single basket. Some are covered in tiny speckles, some have larger dark spots, and others come out a beautiful rich terracotta color.
If you could only keep one row to hatch, which one are you choosing?

Premium genetics. Beautiful birds. Incredible egg color.

How cute are they?!

We currently have our starter flock of Ayam Cemani Chickens in a chicken tractor. For those who are unfamiliar with a chicken tractor, it’s a coop/run on wheels that allows the birds to have access to fresh grass every few days. Keeps everyone happy and healthy!

Speckled Eggs for Days🐓

Currently our Welsummers are our only breed that isn’t determined to go broody 😅 As a result, production is at an all time high 📈 During our off season, these are headed to our egg stand to restock our coolers!

06/29/2026

We’re about 3 weeks out until our next big build out is up! This will give us room for more breeds, more grow outs, and future growth. We are so excited and plan to take you along with us 🥳🐓

06/17/2026

We are in the thick of “grow-out” season over here. In the first year of our business, we learned quickly that the success of future seasons relies heavily on planning and hatching well beyond when you think you may need up and coming breeding groups. As we do the prep work behind the scenes for 2027, we have reached a new level of chicken math in anticipation for all that is to come.

Here are some Black Copper Marans out enjoying this extra warm, sunny weather. Couldn’t resist a quick photo shoot before they’re moved to a designated brooder to grow big and strong 🐓🤎

06/01/2026

The hustle and bustle of spring hatching season may be coming to an end, but we can’t wait for summer! Build outs, grow outs, pullet program reservations, and much more on the schedule as we pivot into our planning and prep for 2027. We are excited to take you along on what’s happening in weeks to come 🐓
