We are hosting an AI Clinic with XCell Genetics on Sunday morning, 8 November. We have 1 remaining slot for a doe insemination ($120) and a few spots if you just want to attend the classroom portion ($50). If you are interested and have a clean, tested herd (- for CAE, - for Johne’s, no history of orf), please send me a message!

The dam of our junior herdsire, Brook Valley SJ PumpUpTheJam, had an amazing first appraisal!

Two of Evelyn’s does rose to the tops of their classes in the State Fair Youth Show today. Matadequin Embo’s Nara was 1st place junior kid and Matadequin MSP Supernova was 1st place intermediate kid. Calvin also had 3 does take home blue ribbons- Matadequin Samurai’s Maiko as a dry yearling, yearling milker AHHS MilkyWay, and Matadequin Cairn’s PixiStik in the 3-year old milker class. Maiko was champion junior Alpine and Supernova was reserve. Pictures were hard to take due to toddler interference, but we got a few to commemorate the day!

We were shocked but thrilled that Matadequin Samurai’s Maiko was selected as the Open Junior Alpine Reserve Champion at the State Fair of Virginia today! Last night she was the rose to Evelyn’s tango dancer, too. Another notable placing today: Matadequin BSF Pirouline was 1st place senior kid :-)

Shoutout to Perle for being game to do the Adult Costume Contest class with me at the State Fair of Virginia. We debuted our replacement for Pluck-A-Duck, the new game Get Your Goat!

Not goat-related, but we’re harvesting our first pomegranates of the season. Pretty sure this one is lyubimy variety and it might not be fully ripe, but boy is it good. Lots more hanging on the Crimson Sky bushes out front.

Goodnight from the State Fair of Virginia! The does are in place and ready for the weekend ahead.

It’s almost time… See you all at the State Fair of Virginia and be sure to catch the dairy goat costume contest!!

Meet our junior herdsire, Matadequin MTN Puar! This hard-working late-March buckling is the result of our AI clinic last fall with XCell Genetics. One exciting feature of this boy is that his casein results came back A/F. He’s been very busy over the last week and a half with our yearlings, so much so that he’s about worked himself out of a job this fall. He is available for lease to clean herd(s) or driveway breedings. Pictures of his dam Pandora (FS87 VGVE @ 3y-06m), his casein report, and his littermate sister are included below.

Matadequin BFS Zephyr is looking for new pastures. This gentle girl has a very nice pedigree and her paternal half sister, Pomegranate, has a promising udder that is a sign of good things to come for this doe, too! You can meet her in person at the State Fair of Virginia this upcoming week.
