Unfortunately, we do not. (Although we may start marketing beef in the future)

On Thursday, June 25, I started a weekend project of building some high tensile fencing over at my grandpa’s. I told my wife we’d be moving the cows in by Tuesday.

Today on SUNDAY, August 23, I’m happy to announce that the pasture is all fenced in and the cows are happily grazing and enjoying the pond.

Last I checked Sunday comes before Tuesday, so I’m ahead of schedule. 😉

All I know for sure is that Grandpa would be proud. I sure thought of him (and my dad) a lot as I was out there walking in their foot steps.

Seasons change and things sure look different but there’s a lot of good memories out here in this dirt. Hopefully one day my kids will feel the same.

If you look closely, you will see an absolutely bat s**t crazy goat, affectionately dubbed “the mountain goat”.

This black doe is supposed to be a recipient for our embryo transfer program; however, she is either completely defiant or has not read her job expectations.

All of our recip does are pretty much absolute asshats but this one specifically takes the cake. At one point it took three people and about 1000ft of temporary fencing to catch her.

We thought we won that day, but we were wrong. Ever since then she has completely evaded capture.

I believe that she sits up on her perch overlooking the pasture studying me, learning my methods, watching my behavior, and analyzing everything that I do. So that one day when the time comes that I try to catch her again, she will be the victor.

I admire her dedication. I for one would struggle to give up my favorite meal on a permanent basis to avoid capture and being handled against my will for 15 minutes.

She on the other hand has sworn off grain for her lifetime. As she has learned that the feeding location is inside of a corral. If she goes into the corral, there is a chance she will be caught.

So while all the other goats come and eat their grain, Mountain Goat sits upon her tree staring at me.

One day, I will outsmart this goat and to the sale barn she will go. Or she will p**s me off enough that I’ll take her tree away. 😉

My girls have dubbed her the mountain goat, but she is 😈 Lilith 😈 to me.

It sure was a wet one this weekend; however, the town of Medaryville was still booming with home town pride!

Due to your support and trust in us, our farm will be able to donate 🐷 $2,700 🐷 back to our community.

Your patronage to our stand is allowing us to give:

🚒 $1,000 to Medaryville / White Post Vol Fire Department to help them construct a building that will fit their needs and help them to best serve our community.

⚾️ $1,000 to The West Central Youth League, specifically to help them achieve their goal of $5,000 to build side line fencing around the Medaryville Ball Diamond.

🏀 $250 to the Friends of the Medaryville Gymnasium to continue their efforts in restoring the gymnasium to create a working community space for our kids.

🥔 $250 to Medaryville Potato Fest committee to keep doing what they are doing to promote small town pride.

⛪️ $200 to Lighthouse Christian Ministry to help our local missionaries right here in Medaryville continue their work in spreading the good news to those who need it most.

What a great day at the Jasper County Fair!

The Stalbaum girls worked hard and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Kennedy was a rock star today. She showed:

Kennedy won Champion Showman in her division and Madison took third in her showmanship division.
