Our community Ofrenda is growing with tokens of love carefully placed by the farm’s friends and customers who’ve taken a moment to stop, to feel, to remember. In the Farm Store, there are bags of freshly picked Marigold blossoms for altars and garlands, and we’re refilling the shelves with copies of Dining with the Dead. This is our most favorite and spectacular Mexican book filled with rich stories, recipes, traditions and iconic photography, the work of Mariana Nuño Ruiz and Ian McEnroe. More copies are on the way!

Come visit and add your own ofrendas to our Altar at the Fry Family Farm Store, open 10AM to 5PM every day. We’ll have Marigolds for you to string, garlands and one of the most beautiful and enriching Mexican cookbooks you’ve ever held. Dining with the Dead: A Feast for the Souls on Day of the Dead, by Mariana Nuño Ruiz and her husband Ian McEnroe, illustrate the importance of Cempasúchil (Marigolds), the history and colorful traditions of Día de los Mu***os, how to build your own ofrenda and cook the authentic foods that honor this occasion. You’ll find yourself immersed in tradition, faith, love, beauty, colors, eternity and magnificent cooking.

Please come, one and all, to see and join in filling our community altar and ofrenda. Bring gifts for your loved ones (please, no original photographs or valuables), set out their favorite drink, food or talisman. This altar and our communal offerings safely guide and welcome the souls of the departed back to the land of the living. We think you’ll love this lovely cultural experience.
