Summer’s Winding Down. Fall Is Just Getting Started.
And we’ve got plenty of reasons to get out, have some fun and enjoy Medford.

It’s hard to believe we’re approaching September already!

We had some really awesome first-time events in Medford this year — moving Porch Fest to May, celebrating PRIDE at Freedom Park, and bringing the Main Street Block Party to life. There are so many great reasons to visit Historic Medford Village these days, from breweries and restaurants to awesome bakeries and shops. It’s walkable, welcoming and there’s something for just about everyone.

And now fall is getting ready to take over, bringing some of our favorite traditional Medford events with it. Things kick off with the Medford Business Association’s Oktoberfest (https://www.medfordoktoberfest.com/) , followed closely by the Woman’s Club of Medford’s Scarecrow Contest, Fall Fest, the Medford-Vincentown Rotary’s Halloween Parade (http://www.medfordhalloweenparade.com/) , and the Destination Medford (https://www.destinationmedford.org/) /NJ Balance (https://www.njbalance.com/) Ghost Walk.

Of course, you’ll want to follow us so you don’t miss any of the music, comedy, trivia, karaoke and general shenanigan fun happening at Lower Forge.

It’s hard to believe that Laughter on Tap Comedy Open Mic is coming up on three years, while our musical open mic is now 10 years strong! Between the beers, seltzers and soft drinks, there’s plenty to enjoy. Bring your own food or snacks, or order something delicious from one of our amazing downtown restaurants. And even though many of them are just a short walk away, lots of them will deliver through services like Uber Eats or DoorDash.

One Addition to the Schedule
We are CLOSED on Labor Day!

We’re closed for Labor Day, but we’ll be back that Thursday with our regular trivia night.

And remember, we’re always ready for a little extra fun. Want to play? We can turn on the JackBox games, bring out the Giant Jenga, or find another game to get you involved. Our staff is always willing to sing, play or compete right along with you.

So come on in, bring some food, grab a drink, relax for a while and have some fun with us.

Summer is winding down, fall is getting started, and maybe — just maybe — life is getting a little closer to being back in gear.

Vacation is over, the beer is cold, and we’re ready to get back to the fun.

Thank you to all the folks who stopped in to say hello and grab a beer with Erika, Grayson and TJ while we were away. We all had an excellent vacation without a worry about the brewery because we have the greatest staff. Of course, there was some alcohol and discussion about upcoming beers and events. We are always thinking up ways to have fun with you!

Is it me, or is this summer just flying by without the gift of wonderful weather? It certainly seems like the dog days of August will be here before we know it. And you know what happens after Labor Day . . . that's right, we must put away our white shoes. (Does anyone really care about those things anymore?)

The Medford Main Street Block Party (https://www.facebook.com/events/1557008179155716) is coming up quickly — Saturday, 8/22 from 1–7 pm. Lots of great family activities during the day, including a Boutique Antique Car Show (behind Bud's Bagels). We'll have a game of Guess Who outside the brewery, and then after 7 pm, we'll have another round of Karaoke Fun for the adults. Karaoke fans won't have to wait until September!

So, lots of opportunities to stop by, grab a beer and have some fun with us. And next weekend, When Life Gives You Lemons will be back on tap — which, in itself, is cause for a party for some of our folks.

We're also gearing up for Oktoberfest, produced by the Medford Business Association (http://www.medfordbusiness.org) in mid-September. It's always a great weekend of music, beer, vendors and, because this is Medford, a little environmental responsibility, too. Members of the Medford Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee/Green Team (http://www.sustainablemedford.org) will once again be volunteering at the event to help with recycling.

Lots of opportunities to get together at a small brewery that's making smaller-batch beers and seltzers, creating a great place to gather, and still finding plenty of time for good conversations and fun with customers who very quickly become our friends.

Don't Miss Me Too Much..Just Stop by the Brewery! 🍺

Here we go again! Summer is absolutely flying by—far too quickly and, if you ask me, far too hot.

First things first…if you stop by this weekend, you'll notice someone is missing. The Galies are taking our annual family vacation, so the question our staff will probably hear most is, "Where's Pola?"

Don't worry—I'm just relaxing with the grandkids, making memories, and dreaming up new recipes with Sean and Abbie. (Yes...there will almost certainly be alcohol involved. 🍺)

While I'm away, please stop in and show our amazing staff a little extra love. They'll be taking great care of everyone, and your support means a lot.

Erika will also be hosting Music Trivia this week, and if you've played with her before, you already know it's going to be a great night. Regular brewery hours all weekend!

When I return, we'll jump right into Medford's Got Talent auditions (https://mainstreetmerchants08055.wufoo.com/forms/z56jl4r0d3ghlj/) on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6. That means there will be NO Thursday Trivia on August 6. Whether your talent is singing, dancing, poetry, comedy, magic, or something completely unique, I hope you've signed up to show us what you've got. These audition nights are sure to be a lot of fun.

Looking for something a little more creative? Joy Keldsen from ELM Gallery (https://www.facebook.com/events/4444979502399493) returns on Sunday, August 2 for another of her popular art classes. Be sure to register early (https://lmls.wufoo.com/forms/zos1em017y25sk/) because the next class won't be until October.

Our CPR classes continue on the first and third Tuesdays of each month with Olivia Marr, RN. They've become a wonderful addition to downtown Medford, and participants appreciate having this important training available locally. (Don't worry—we save the beer until after class! During class we have coffee, tea, soft drinks, and water available.)

See What’s Happening This Week!

Where is the time going? It’s already mid-July, and there’s more than the weather heating up. From summer food truck nights and block parties to Medford's Got Talent, there’s always something fun happening at Lower Forge Brewery.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Main Street Merchants of Historic Medford Village page (https://www.facebook.com/MedfordMainStreetMerchants) for information about upcoming community events. And don’t miss the 1st Annual Medford PRIDE (http://www.medfordpride.org) celebration on Wednesday, July 15, at Freedom Park. Co-sponsored by the Main Street Merchants, (http://www.medfordmainstreet.com) Destination Medford (http://www.destinationmedford.com) , and other community partners, the evening will feature live music, food trucks, vendors, family-friendly activities, and more.

This Saturday, we’re bringing back one of our favorite events—Name That Tune! Our customers never cease to amaze us with their music knowledge, but we’ve also discovered there’s something magical about those buzzers. The moment your button turns green, your mind suddenly goes blank. Don’t believe us? Come give it a try! We promise plenty of laughs, a little friendly competition, and a great night out.

Speaking of laughs, next week offers two chances to enjoy live comedy. On Friday, our Laughter on Tap Comedy Open Mic returns (21+ to perform or attend). Then on Saturday, we’re excited to welcome back Tahaa Kahn, who is preparing for another big show in Chicago in August. He’ll be testing out new material and loves getting feedback from our audiences—and if you’ve been here before, you know our crowd is never shy about sharing their opinions!

Happy Independence Day
and Happy 250th Birthday, America!

If you missed the first 4th Friday PFS/MAC Performance Series, you missed an incredible evening of music! Terry Rivel put on a fantastic performance, and Bob Andrews, Tom Reiter, and Larry Ragone had the whole house singing along and tapping their feet. That’s exactly the kind of atmosphere we love.

The next performance is Friday, July 24, and you’ll definitely want to arrive early for the best seating. Many guests grabbed dinner from one of the great restaurants along Main Street before settling in for the music, making it a perfect night out. We’ll even have coffee and tea available for our coffeehouse crowd!

In the meantime, there’s plenty happening at Lower Forge.

Thursday, July 2, while Medford celebrates with its annual fireworks, we’ll still be hosting Trivia Night featuring Independence Day, UFO Day, and a little history mixed in for good measure.

Friday, July 3 is First Friday Karaoke with Erika & Pola. Whether you’re ready to take the stage or just cheer on your friends, it’s always a fun night. (Please note that, like Laughter on Tap, all performers and guests must be 21 or older.)

Then on Saturday, July 4, comedian Tahaa Kahn returns! Many of you may remember when he tested material here before filming a streaming special. He’s back developing new material, and you’ll once again get a chance to see fresh comedy before anyone else. Every show is different, making each visit a unique experience.

And yes… our slushies are back! Just in time for the summer heat, they’re the perfect way to cool down while enjoying one of our many game nights, including Name That Tune, Jeopardy, Music Bingo, Trivia, and more.
