To all of our customers,
Effective August 1st, I will be temporarily stepping away from daily operations of Task Runners Delivery Service to pursue other interests and take much-needed time away from the business.
Ongoing health issues these past few years, both physically and mentally, have played a large role in this decision. The rigors of running the business for this many years is finally catching up with me and it's time to take a long-needed break.
During this "break" period, I intend to go back to work (employment) either in a delivery-type capacity, or something that I might actually enjoy for a change.
Being able to work a normal shift, getting normal time off and being able to enjoy things I've sacrificed over the years (family time, hobbies, travel time, etc), is something I'd like to get back.
It will also be good to be getting back to maintaining things around the house that have been sorely neglected due to lack of time available, as well as our pets that don't see us very much.
April will continue to run the business in my absence, which she is more than capable of doing. I will still continue to handle the behind-the-scenes stuff, like keeping up our finances, licensing, paying our business creditors, maintaining our delivery vehicles, etc. and from time to time, I may even help out on some deliveries if I'm not working my "other" job ( IF April lets me, of course, lol!)
Those of our current customers that RELY heavily on us to get food/grocery deliveries to them may not see much of a change, other than needing to plan ahead and submit orders a day or two before they're needed.
April does mostly Instacart (online) orders and, depending if she's working on an order at the time, she may not be able to take orders while shopping or deliver "same day", so please be aware.
As for our hours of operation or pricing, there is no plan to make any changes at this time, although, I will leave that up to HER discretion now, should it be necessary.
FIRST AND FOREMOST, THIS IS NOT A BUSINESS CLOSURE NOTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We may have not gotten the recognition deserved or win any local awards for as long as we've been in town, but we are still continuing to offer a more superior service than any online or grocery store service, doing those things only a LOCAL delivery service can offer:
1. We still take WRITTEN orders over the PHONE.
2. You'll be speaking to someone LOCAL, as opposed to a call-center in another state/country.
3. We don't CANCEL orders if we can't find you.
4. We don't decide to do an order based on a "tip" amount.
5. We provide BOTH the store/restaurant receipt along with ours so you know EXACTLY what was spent and what was charged.
6. We're TRANSPARENT about the services we provide and not cover up facts about WHO's doing your delivery and the hidden costs within. You get our price UP FRONT before you place your order.
I want to thank you for your business and those that have stuck with us all these years!
In time, I may return, but for now, Task Runners Delivery will continue to be here for ........ "as long as we're needed".
