Brian relocated from Portland, Oregon in 2012 leaving a 14 year career in law enforcement. Returning to his hometown Medford, Oregon he decided to use the opportunity to work in a different field. He took a position at a local vineyard as assistant winemaker for two seasons where he gained experience in all aspects of winemaking from picking grapes to putting the finished product into bottles. He

also volunteered at a local brewery, it was during his time there, brewing delicious beer, that the idea to produce hard cider from locally sourced fruit was born. Brian's cidery is located at his family's home. Producing craft cider from home allows him the freedom to care for his son on the days when his wife Allison is at work. He founded Knotty Apple Cider Company in Spring 2014.
