I love meeting people and having the opportunity to share about our family and farm history! Come see us today and tomorrow from 10am-4pm at our store in Medical Lake!

We are located at 107 W. Lake Street (S.W. corner of Lake & Lefevre), just 15-minutes west of Downtown Spokane via I-90.

With school back in session, this is a great time to stock up on our beef sticks! They make a great snack for the car ride to or from school and really hit the spot for your kids doing all the sports activities. They are a great source of protein and NO preservatives. They freeze very well, so be sure to load up while you're here!

Have a blessed day, everyone!

Throwback to last summer when I was asked to explain why the flavor and quality of Johnson Homestead’s ground beef is so good. Watch the video and find out why.

We have a real customer story that backs this up. A customer told us she made spaghetti and meatballs, and her dinner guest asked for the meatball recipe. Her friend reported back that she followed the recipe exactly and asked if she got the recipe wrong, or if there was a secret ingredient because they weren’t nearly as good as our customer’s. Our customer asked her friend where she got the ground beef she used, and she named a local grocery store. Our customer said, “the not-so-secret ingredient is ground beef from Johnson Homestead Medical Lake-you can taste the difference!” Her friend made the meatball recipe again, this time using our ground beef, and she was excited to report her meatballs tasted just like the ones her friend made.

We take quality seriously and are proud of what we sell you. If your food’s origin and top quality is important to you, then come give our beef a try, we know you will love it!

Call or text me at (509) 993-5197 with questions, to place an order or make an appointment. You can also come to our store at 107 W. Lake Street (S.W. corner of Lake & Lefevre) in Medical Lake on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.

🌾✨ This is my grandparents, Pete and Catherine, who began their journey here in the late 1800s as settlers from Denmark. Pete farmed just up the road from where I live today, and Catherine was a brave mail-order bride. Together, they raised their family in Medical Lake, where my dad was the oldest of nine children, a twin among them.

In this picture, you can see my dad with my mom, Naomi, celebrating one of their anniversaries. The final photo features me, Gerri, our son Randal, and his wife, Nina. This is our legacy story—a testament to our roots and the values that have shaped our community.

With all the recent discussions around land, water, and cattle, we want to remind everyone of the foundation that our pioneers built for future generations. It’s about connection, community, and knowing your farmer. Let’s honor the principles that matter most! 💚👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Good Morning 😃
Have a wonderful Friday everyone
I am just taking care of few of the critters this morning. This is my happy place. No where else I would rather be.
Later today I’ll be working at Medical Lake Food Bank where we have a great team of volunteers. We see a lot of folks who just need a hand. Happy to do that. Gerri and I talk about all the different things we have done together over the past 40 years. From me having a bread route to another salvage food route. It not only kept our family fed but I think we fed a dozen other families. You do what you need to.
Gerri is friends with a lady named Celeste. She says, “Food is love.” I think there is something to that. We just did a community event. The Long Table. Reimagine Medical Lake hosted it. They had food and invited anyone who wanted to come. Seeing everyone come and sit at a table was amazing.
It must be why I like to watch all of my cows come up to eat all at once. They are one big family.
