🍏What a beautiful day today! Thanks to everyone who stopped by! And lucky us- we still have two beautiful days left in this holiday weekend! Honeycrisp are running low in our bins - but their offspring SweeTangos are big and juicy and plentiful!!
🍎We also still have so many delicious varieties to pick in the orchard- Gingergold, Wealthy, Gala, Jonamac, and Early Macintosh!
🌻And this is likely your last chance for our Upick sunflower patch! By next week, they’ll probably be past their prime. But they’re so beautiful right now and just $5 per handful!
🍏Cider to purchase will start next weekend, but we have just enough to make another batch of our delicious c***r donuts tomorrow morning- these can sell out fast so call ahead at 585-798-1060 if you know you’re coming in the afternoon and we can set some aside for you!
🎃Oh, and we had our first pumpkin Upickers today! The pumpkin patch has some real beauties this year!
🍎We will be open tomorrow, Sunday Sept 6, 9am-6pm and Monday Sept 7, 10am-5pm. We hope to see you soon!!!

🍎Sweetango’s are HERE!!!! We are stocked with your favorite apple in pre-picked bins!
🍩 AND- planning to have the first batch of c***r donuts ready to go by 9am!!
🍏Available to pick in the orchard: Gala, Gingergold, Wealthy, Jonamac, Early Mac. 20 Ounce, and lots of single tree heritage varieties!
🍎Available to purchase from pre-picked bins: Zestar, Gala, Gingergold, 20 Ounce, and our Specialty varieties- SweeTango and the last of the Premier Honeycrisp!
🌻Upick sunflowers still available…plus we’ll have lots of gorgeous pre-picked sunflowers and zinnias for purchase! Now just $5 per handful!!!!
🍏We won’t have c***r available to purchase until next week but we snagged enough for the donuts and SLUSHIES!!!

💕Very limited quantities of Pink Pearl available in the Upick orchard right now! This variety is a biennial cropper meaning it will have a heavy crop load one year and then very few the next. We’re in an off year, so these beauties will go fast! If you miss them, we have a few other red and pink fleshed varieties in our Heritage orchard. The single tree Pink Pearl has zero apples on it, but check out the end of the Chenango Strawberry row- we grafted several trees there to Pink Pearl! Several trees… but very few apples… who will be the lucky upickers this year?!?

OOOF!! That was a doozy of a stormy day yesterday!!! We had a massive storm that brought hail through the orchard around 7:30am and then by 7pm we were in our basements with a reported tornado in the area! We lost a couple of new trees and the apples have suffered some hail damage, but nothing you can’t pick around! We are still without WiFi and phones, but we are wired in for credit sales on one register. Thank you for your continued support!

Had to shine a little light on the Medina Triennial, a contemporary (and temporary!) art exhibition right here in the village of Medina! The Triennial brings 39 artists from five continents together to showcase their works on the title “All That Sustains Us”. This is the last weekend to view the exhibits- they will be dismantled after Monday, Sept 7! This one-of-a-kind exhibition is completely free and open to the public Thursday through Monday, 12-6pm. So combine your apple picking adventure with a little art in our beautiful little village on the Erie Canal!

🍎So what the heck is a “Premier Honeycrisp” anyway, and how is it different from our regular season Honeycrisp?
🍎Occasionally a known variety of apples will develop a spontaneous mutation in a bud, branch, or entire tree that can result in distinctively different qualities than the original variety.
🍎These are called “bud sports” and the different characteristics can range from skin color, shape, or ripening time of the apples grown on those branches. If the different characteristic is stable and shows consistencies after being grafted, a new variety with these enhanced characteristics can be propagated and marketed.
🍎In this case, apple growers in Pennsylvania noticed one tree in their Honeycrisp orchard consistently ripened 2-3 weeks earlier than all the others and that trait was sustained when new trees were grafted from those branches. And thus… Premier Honeycrisp was born!
🍎We have Premiers for sale right now in pre-picked bins in our Upick sales pavilion! They have the same great taste as our regular season Honeycrisp… without the wait! As always, we welcome you to grab an apple right out of the bins to sample for yourself!
