Brown Turkey figs are one of those old-school, reliable fruit varieties that deserve more attention.

This photo shows our cutting’s growth since last year. It’s amazing how far it’s come! This cutting came from our friends at HWB Farm Market in Medina, TX. There’s something special about growing a tree connected to a homestead you trust.

Brown Turkey figs are sweet, earthy, and honey-like when ripe, with soft jammy flesh and a deep purple-brown skin.

They’re one of the most reliable fig varieties out there. Hardy, productive, and sometimes gives two crops in warm climates.

Watching it grow is a reminder of steady, faithful growth over time. Rooted things bear fruit in their season.

Bittersweet every time 😭 Sending these seven goslings off to their new home today! They’ll be so very spoiled, and I’ll get pictures often, but I’ve so enjoyed their cheerfulness 🥹
