Let me start out by saying…I’m a very seasoned pop up, vendor market, Farmers market professional. I have many years of experience under my belt. I’ve worked with MANY different curators! I believe as a business owner at markets, I feel we pay a curator to find a venue for us and then market the venue and the vendors that will be there. With that being said, I do think self promotion is always added marketing, especially for your own customers.

There are two kinds of curators of A Market

1. The kind that you pay your fee for them to market the event FOR you and the other vendors. The kind that continuously asking what you need to make the venue a success, and feedback where they can improve as a curator. The kind that will come and encourage you and are willing to step up when things were not a grand success. Who are approachable, PROFESSIONAL who do not gossip with other vendors and work hard to make these shows a success.

2.  The kind that think you are there to support their business as a curator. The kind of curator that thinks they need to tell you how to run your business, even though they run a completely different kind of business. The kind that are unprofessional, rude, gossip and create high school clicks. The ones that will call you out on social media, even on your business social pages with their OPINIONS, right or wrong.

Let me tell you that Hometown Events & Pop-Ups, these women are by far….the first of the two types. They are a pleasure to work with both professionally and personally. I can’t say enough about the productive interactions with them! Truly the kind of curators that I will stick with!!!
