LBD Dorpers Welcome to LBD Dorpers! We began raising hair sheep nearly 20 years ago, but have transitioned our herd to strictly Dorpers over the past few years. Thanks!

Our herd of around 100 head is now made up of all fullblood sheep. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about what we have for sale or just want to talk sheep in general!

Random video of a breeding group being moved from a brush cleanup job back to pasture. Thought this video showed off the consistency that's coming through on the traits we've focused on in our herd for a few years now. Can't beat sheep thriving with little to no input as nature intended!

FYI...This group was essentially all Type 5 sheep at our recent inspection.

We had an exciting weekend here at the farm! We've been trying for a couple of years to have an inspector here to go through our sheep, and we were finally able to make that happen! Wicus Cronje made the trip over from Australia and his experience was a huge help in deciding what to do with our sheep moving forward. Of the 60 breeding age animals we went through, 52 made stud. We ended up with 37 Type 5 and 15 Type 4. The 8 that he recommended to sell were predominantly older ewes we planned on moving and ones with color faults. This was a great opportunity and one that I'd recommend to anyone looking to learn about the breed! The knowledge you will gain is invaluable!
