I’ve been experimenting with growing my micros using sea minerals for a while and have come up with the perfect growing regime which includes organic sea kelp meal (which contains 60 minerals, carbohydrates and amino acids) and a product called Sea Magic of which testing has shown contains all the minerals in the same proportions of those same minerals which occur in the blood of healthy animals. It’s actually just concentrated sea water that has had the crystallized sodium and chloride removed..although it’s still present but to a much lesser degree. To maximize the concentration of these minerals into the greens, when I first sow the seeds they get a sprinkle of sea kelp on top and then, once the roots develop and I start underwatering, I use the Sea Magic solution. I’m of the philosophy that microgreens don’t need extra nutrients from outside sources to grow as they contain all of the energy necessary inside the seed to grow and I’ve proven this to myself using various growing procedures and mediums, some as sparse as a window screen, however my main goal is to increase their already amazing nutritional profile. Why minerals from the sea? We humans rarely ingest inorganic materials aside from salt yet our bodies need minerals to complete proper biological functions. Humans obviously aren’t eating the rocks from which they derive but these precious minerals become available to us when the plants we eat uptake them from the soil. What if the soil is deplete of minerals because they have been washed away or the land farmed improperly? There are studies that have shown that much of our soil has been reduced to just 12-20 minerals. Growing microgreens under controlled conditions helps to add these minerals back into the plants and back into your diet! Plus, I do think they look a little lusher 🤗❤️🌱😺
