The sunflower season has officially come to an end. Thanks to all who visited our farm stand this summer and stopped by our booth at the Campbell County Farmers Market. A special thanks to Left Bank Coffeehouse and Little Rock Farm for providing space for our flowers.
We hope to see everyone next year!

Today’s Harvest!
We finally prevented the deer from devouring our crop by installing a higher fence. Now we’ve been visited by the the sunflower head-clipping weevil!
Despite these obstacles we still have plenty of flowers at the stand this weekend. Hoping for a few more weeks of blooms!

Here are some fun sunflower facts: Sunflowers aren’t just beautiful; they’re good for the environment. They absorb toxins in the soil. They have even been planted in some places to absorb nuclear radiation. Sunflowers are excellent at attracting pollinators - bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. The French word for sunflowers is tournesol, which means 'turns with the sun.' Young sunflowers track the sun, which is a trait called heliotropism.
Our farm and the sunflowers we grow are pesticide free.
