Hey y’all, I threw out a quick story this morning as I was so excited to get these wines in I couldn’t wait, but here’s some more context for you. Marcel Lapierre could be thought of as the very first natural wine producer. His wines are historically a turning point in wine production. If you love the wines we recommend to you, please spend a minute digging into his legacy and the permanent impact his work has had on modern winemaking.

We at Rootstock are saddened to learn of the passing of Emidio Pepe, whose handmade wines from Abruzzo in Italy transcended the pedestrian reputation of that winemaking region to become legendary and ranked among the most sought-after wines in the world. It has been nearly impossible for us to get our hands on his wines - this single bottle is all we have at the moment.
