So, one question we get at Black Butterfly Gardens is why are we not a non profit. Non Profits serve a critical need in our community. While Black Butterfly Gardens does provide locally grown produce, we rely on any income generated to financially benefit our household. It is solely owned by the Jackson family. Non profits on the other hand have no owners. What they do have is a Board of Directors. When providing services to Non profits we do charge a discounted fee.

We love working with non profits and all groups. With that being said, consider booking us for gardening classes and private events.

Melon is that you? Black Butterfly Gardens Will have some melons at our next farmers market at Pilgram Rest Baptist Church. This heat is taking us out, but we are going to keep going. Of course we will have our teas. We will also have raspberry leaf tea and fresh lemon grass

Hey Black Butterfly Gardens . A while a good we talked about growing mushrooms. We'll guess what. We have some pink oyster mushrooms. I believe the heat did not allow it to actually turn pink, but we will do some quality control

Today we had another wonderful class on seed starting. I know we are supposed to be teaching them, but we are learning so much in return

We're back in the dirt!

Our next Container Gardening session with Black Butterfly Gardens is today at Shelby County Youth & Family Resource Center-YFRC

Our moms are learning practical skills they can use for years to come—from growing fresh vegetables to building confidence and self-sufficiency.

Childcare will be provided by It Takes A Village , if you haven't already signed up other arrangements will need to be made.

We can't wait to continue growing together—literally!
