Midnight Haven Farm

Am I the only one shaking the last couple drops out of the gas station pump thing like it owes me money? 🫠
I know, realistically it doesn't help, but it does make me feel better! 😂

Maybe this is silly to most people, but I'm super stoked. I had a stuffed bear as a kid and he was my absolute favorite, a huge huge part of my childhood. When my husband and I moved out of our first house to a different place, I lost my bear. The bear that soaked up all my tears, felt like he was hugging me back in my worst memories, and kept nightmares away (or so I told my little sister when I would let her snuggle him for the night.) I've been looking for YEARS for a bear like him to patch the wound, my mom and my sister have too. I finally found one for $5 on a reselling app a couple days ago. I couldn't believe it! I showed my sister in my excitement and she bought him for me, because she's the sweetest heart. 🩷🩷🩷
Not farm related, I know, but I'm super excited!
Also, one of my does came into heat two days ago so I'm also feeling pretty good about spring babies! 😁

The soft hush of rain on the roof has never sounded so sweet...

I'm needing to pick the minds of the collective for a few things.
Firstly, my little girl lost her favorite little chicken this morning. She has had this hen since she was hatched and my daughter was absolutely distraught finding her before school this morning. That being said, does anyone have any extra pullet/hen/rooster Chocolate or Chocolate Laced Orpington sets available? I'd love for her to be able to hatch her own small flock to love on and help ease this hard lesson on the farm for her.

Secondly, for those families that participate in 4H, what does that look like for you? I'm going to be enrolling my kiddos in it for the first time ever this year and don't know really what membership looks like. We're very excited for it though!

And lastly, I have a blueberry muffin recipe that I love and it's supposed to work well with either fresh or frozen berries. However, I've tried it with frozen berries and it messed up the bake time for them which was a hassle. Does anyone use a different time or bake temp for using fresh or frozen berries in your muffins?

Pic of said well-loved little girl and chicken. 🩷
