Hillrose Marshal's Ideal (Marvelous Masterpiece x SYLRTomoros Royal Lady) 2019, 100% Foundation stallion. Lg. pony. Grey flaxen mane. He is trained for carriage and has been backed. The only intact son of Marvelous Masterpiece. I have 2 foals due by him in May. He is scheduled to be gelded in 2 weeks. This is killing me as he extremely managable and correct, but bored. He is bred for endurance, loves to work and wants a job. There will be more opportunities for this as a geldng but if he found the right home, he could shine as a stallion as well. But I can't give him that. Located in Western NY.

Sharing a photo of the entrance to Hillrose Morgans Farm, Mendon, NY. Always beautiful this time of year. Photo is compliments of our local, very popular photographer, John Kucko Digital. He is an amazing photographer catching the wonderment of Western NY State's beautiful nature. He visits a few times / yr. to snap a photo but I think autumn is his favorite.

America the Beautiful: “Path to Paradise” at this beautiful horse farm in Western New York (Mendon, NY). Wouldn’t be Fall for me if I didn’t get my annual capture of this wonderful driveway in the country which I did yesterday.

“Parents, let your daughters grow up to be horse girls, because they will learn quickly and repeatedly that life isn’t fair, that hard work is often trumped by Lady Luck, and that every defeat, no matter how terrible, is temporary. Let them dream big and kick on. Let them learn confidence, grace and grit. Let them build big muscles and strong backs.

Let your daughters grow up in the barn. Let them learn that buckets need filling and stalls need cleaning, even when it’s raining, even when it’s frozen, even when they have a different idea for how the day should go.

Let them set goals and reach them. Let them set goals and fail miserably. Let them learn that, if they work incredibly hard, practice like hell, ride the best quality horse they can and take impeccable care of him, they’re sometimes going to get beat by someone with 10 times the money and one tenth the drive.

Teach them to drive trucks and trailers and ATVs. Teach them to change tires and wrap legs and give shots. And let them leave a spur mark, or a bit rub, or a bandage bow, and let them deal with the shame of causing pain to an animal they love.

Let them grow up with horses and with good horse people, because it will teach them to be humble, and to be resilient, and to be brave.”

Update: “Donnie” bred 2 mares for us this summer, everything looked good at 14 days. The 30 day check for the heartbeat is next week. 🤞🤞
He was a good boy for his 1st year breeding. I was and am spoiled, by Masterpiece his sire, my Jiggs and my senior stallion, Hillrose Taconic Major, but this boy is following right along in those footsteps. Still available. He loves to work and needs a younger person and a more active home.

Do you remember this young stallion? Hillrose Marshal's Ideal (Marvelous Masterpiece x SYLRTomoros Royal Lady) 2019 and 100% Foundation. He is the foal in the profile photo above and is a liver chestnut with a flaxen mane with lots of silver in it. He is available as a stallion now, 1 last time. He will be breeding 1-2 of my mares before he is gelded at the end of this summer, which truly would be a shame as he is a rare gem. He is the only intact son of his sire and carries some of the rarest lines in the Morgan breed. He is smart, well handled and is trained to drive. He has been backed and is ready to start with saddle training, which I will have done next fall if not sold before then. He loves to work and is bred for endurance so would make a wonderful CDE horse as well as distance riding. He needs an active home. My age and circumstances have changed and I can no longer supply that or keep 3 stallions. There has been interest in him as a gelding, so if that is you, you are welcome to reach out but preference will go to breeders, especially those with preservation and genetic diversity in mind.

We call him "Chili" (Hillrose Taconic Major x SYLR Tomoros Royal Juliet) because of his facial marking, but he is a tall (14 HH) young man that just turned 1 yr. old yesterday. He has absolutely beautiful, lofty, movement. He loves hanging out with his dad and has the same quiet demenor. He is only 2" shorter than dad already. I love that "Jack", my stallion is as sweet as he is. It's Spring and the mares are only 25-30 ft away. He is available as a stallion, as I will want to retain a few breedings.

3 week old photos of Hillrose Absolute (Hillrose Taconic Major x SYLRTomoros Royal Lady). She has started creep feeding and has decided it's a wonderful thing. It was precious when she put her bum against mom's chest to keep her away from the feed bucket. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera to catch it.
