The Story of Our Humble Beginnings:
My fondest childhood memories are the frequent visits to my grandparents’ home, with a fresh batch of cookies baking in the oven. For Vonnie, my grandmother, those cookies were a joyous labor of love. She shared that love with me over the years, inspiring me to bring joy to the lives of loved ones through baking. Grandma Vonnie’s Cookies was founded one night w
hile I was soul-searching with a close friend for a meaningful passion that I could share. My thoughts kept coming back to baking, but the idea of simply selling cookies didn’t grab me. Then it hit me — My Grandma spent the last years of her life experiencing the deterioration of Alzheimer’s disease. Everyone involved suffered greatly in the sadness and challenges as she slipped away to this disease. I pray that nobody else has to face this. Unfortunately, today there is no cure for Alzheimer’s. Could Grandma Vonnie’s Cookies make a difference while bringing joy to people? Could her recipes help in the fight against Alzheimer’s? To this end, we pledge: Grandma Vonnie’s Cookies will donate a portion of all proceeds to fund the research for a cure for Alzheimer’s.
