More details to follow... The Iron Brewer Competition is a single-elimination bracket-style competition that will force you to step outside of your brewing comfort zone.
16 brewers will be paired off into a playoff-style bracket. The victor from each round will progress to the next round where they will face a new challenge and opponent. Judging sessions will be open to participants in the compe
tition and a limited number of the public. It’s a great time to get to know other brewers and sample their creations. Judging sessions will also be recorded so they can be posted to the Internet for viewing by the public and any participants unable to attend. Judges will be experienced in evaluating beers. Judges for this competition will be excluded from participating. Each brewer will be allowed to write a description of their process, recipe or any other information they feel will be pertinent for the judges to know. This description will be read to the judges by one of the non-judge organizers to prevent swaying the judges’ opinions. Any information that may identify the brewer will be removed from the description. As a participant, it is your responsibility to make sure your beer is at the judging location prior to the start of the judging session. If your beer is not available by the time judging begins, you will forfeit that round.
