In their efforts to expand their love of books to young readers, the Mentorship Branch of the Homestead Honors English Society (HEHS) visited Donges Bay and other elementary schools in the district to read books to elementary school students.
“[HEHS has] partnered with Kids Campus, which is their after-school program, and we bring picture books based on a theme each month. And we read to them and have a mini discussion after,” Sarah Heller, sophomore member of HEHS, said.

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes in Pubs? Today staffers met with Elizabeth Sweet, HHS graduate of ‘06, sports writer and designer based out of Chicago. Staffers and Sweet worked on planning the journalism coverage for the first annual Homestead girls basketball alumnae game. Sweet and Chloe Marotta, sports broadcaster and Marquette girls basketball alumna, will be organizing the game that will take place at HHS on Dec. 21.
