Service Manager
• Manage all employees within the service dept. Develop a high level of employee performance and morale.
• Know how to complete all duties and train for the service writer and service parts positions. The manager should be able to perform the duties of all positions being managed.
• Prioritize and schedule all jobs in the shop and field
• Create a team environment between all departments service, parts, sales
• Resolve any and all customer situations with the advice of the service director
• Review and close all work orders on a daily basis. Ensure that billing is correct including shop supplies, labor hours, waste charges, field calls, pickup and delivery, and parts billing.
• Open documents list should be printed for internal, customer, and warranty jobs, reviewed weekly and closed within 10 days of last labor date.
• Make sure all vehicle work orders are marked as non-revenue before closing.
• Make any labor adjustments needed on work orders, after discussing with the service director.
• Make sure all employees have work to complete, are on task, and are working when on the clock. Manage break times
• Make sure all the employees they manage come to work on time, dressed in a professional manner and ready to greet the customer.
• Schedule all trucking
• Stay involved in each and every repair. The manager should be checking with all techs several times a day keeping the customer informed about the repair.
• Review recovery and efficiency rates, ensure all technicians are constantly improving
• Manage maintenance employees
• Make sure the dealer arrival and PDI reports are completed for all New Holland, Case IH, and JCB equipment. Reports are to be filled out in the dealer portal under Initial Quality section.
• Make sure all PIP’s are completed for all vendors within the time limits.
• Approve all shop and vehicle expenses under $1000.00. Call service director for anything above $1000.00. Ensure maintenance is being completed on all company vehicles and that they are clean/presentable.
• Make sure all customer returned equipment is entered in the daily haul log and fuel usage is billed.
• Make sure all building maintenance is completed and kept in acceptable condition.
• Complete safety walks through the shop on a daily basis. Check and repair any hazards.
• Set up and manage all tech training (instructor led/ web training)
• Be aware of standing with CNH service evals to ensure shop is qualified.
• Responsible for the safety of all personnel and must be fluent with all company policies as outlined in the company handbook.
• Responsible for recruiting new employees
• Make sure all EST’s are up to date and working properly.
• Ensure all set up sheets are filled out and complete before starting to work on any equipment.
• Review and approve all handwritten time on time cards
• Responsible for keeping equipment yards clean and presentable.
• Know and understand all of our vendors warranty policies.
• Ensure that all repair work is performed right the first time.
• Inform management of existing or potential customer/service problems.
• Schedule training for all service employees to achieve master status in all areas.
• Create and encourage effective communication with customers and all employees of N&S Tractor.
