We will be at the Dakota Feeder Calf Vendor Fair next Sat, Oct 18th! Stop by for pumpkins, gourds, late season watermelons, fresh vine- ripened tomatoes, pickles, watermelon pickles, and our one of a kind flower jellies, along with some fruit jellies. An early frost means an early squash harvest. We have lots of spaghetti squash, butternut squash, a few acorn squash, and some cute little gourds that make great fall decorations. PS--Don't worry, the squash will continue to 'harden off' or ripen even off the vine.

Cool fall nights calls for Lazy Pigs in a Blanket hotdish made with Billy Bowtie's cabbage and Bloody Mary mix, along with corn on the cob and cucumbers from the garden. Let us know if we can help make supper even better with home grown veggies!

Recipe:
1 lbs browned ground beef
1 packet of Spanish rice
1 qt of Billy Bowtie's Bloody Mary mix
1 1/2- 2 lbs shredded cabbage
Mozzarella cheese optional

Brown hamburger and put in a casserole dish. Add the packet of Spanish rice and cabbage. Next, add Bloody Mary mix (can substitute 32 oz tomato juice or V-8). Mix all together and cook in 350° oven for 1- 1/2 hrs or until cabbage is soft. Can top with shredded cheese.

We will be at Mercer Market in the Park today from 4-6 with cucumbers, beans, peppers, cabbage, a few tomatoes, onions, and zucchini bread! Oh, and you might be able to meet our newest garden helper--Mouse!
