My cousins rescue could use some help. Every dollar counts.

This picture isn't fancy — it's just breakfast.

But breakfast for this many mouths, every single day, adds up quickly. Hay, grain, bedding, electric, trash… the ordinary expenses of rescue don't stop when fundraising is slow.

Pretty Girl has officially checked into chicken hospital 🏥🐔🤍
We've been in the middle of moving, so the chickens are still at our old property while we get everything settled. I have someone checking on them throughout the day, but somehow little miss managed to get herself into trouble.
My mom found her with her leg stuck and, at first, thought she was gone. Thankfully, she was still alive and was able to be freed. ❤️
The good news is that I don't think her leg is broken. It seems more likely that she hyperextended it or strained some muscles. She's already started putting weight on it again and has been trying to work it out herself, which gives me a little hope.
I picked her up last night and brought her to the new house. I had her inside for a while, but I could tell she was completely out of her element. So this morning, I did the next best thing and got her set up in her own little recovery area where she can rest comfortably and stay safe while she heals.
Has anyone had a chicken recover fully from something similar? I'd love to hear your experiences.
And of course... out of nearly 50 chickens, it had to be one of my favorites 😭🤦‍♀️
We'll be cheering Pretty Girl on and hoping for a full recovery. 🤍🐔✨
