How is your garden growing? I always think gardens look the best the third week of June. The plants are growing, and the hot crops are starting to flower and produce fruit. But following the third week we experience higher temperatures, the bugs start showing up (we pulled squash bugs off of pumpkins and cantaloupe last night), powdery mildew happens, and tomato problems start to appear. We are seeing some tomatoes with leaves curling up (often caused by environmental stress—heat and overexposure to sunlight, viral diseases, over pruning, and under watering). We are keeping an eye on a handful and have plans to replace a few.
