Egg production has been a little slow recently, and what we have been getting has been going fast! The stand was restocked today with a few dozen. Also some fresh zucchini, local maple syrup, firewood, and something new...firestarters created by a local young man trying to earn a buck. Come check it out while they last.

The Sunflowers are starting to bloom, so once again it's time for the annual Sunflower post! Our son brought home a plant from preschool when he was 3 years old. It turned out to be a Sunflower and we've harvested the seeds and replanted each year since (he's 13 now!).

Farm Fresh Pasture Pork

K4 Acres LLC has a half or whole share of an Idaho Pasture Pig available. Butcher date is September 17 at Geiss Meat Service, LLC in Merrill. Please PM for details.

The Idaho Pasture Pig (IPP) is comprised of Old Berkshire, Duroc and Kunekune breeds.

The meat from our grass-fed pigs is higher in omega-3 fatty acids and more marbleized than traditional grown pork, with a deep red color and a sweeter flavor.

Our Idaho Pasture Pigs have a diet consisting primarily of grass, and will mature to a butcher weight of about 160 to 220 pounds hanging weight in approximately 12 months.
