We wanted to take a moment to update everyone on what’s been happening at J/L Farms.
The first half of 2026 has been one setback after another. Between health issues, a hospitalization, broken equipment, and a steady stream of unexpected problems, we’ve been stretched extremely thin trying to keep up with everything at once.
On top of that, we are still waiting on a company to complete major home repairs that were supposed to be finished months ago. These delays are not on us—we are fully dependent on them to finish what they started, and we’ve now been in limbo for nearly three months while trying to work, manage the farm, and keep daily life functioning around ongoing construction issues.
The reality is we’ve reached a point where there simply isn’t enough time or capacity to keep everything moving at once without something giving.
Because of that, we are taking a temporary hiatus from grinding grain. This is not the end of our grain program, and J/L Farms is not closing or stepping away from this work long-term. It is simply a pause so we can regain stability and get through this season of heavy load.
We also need to share that we will not be raising Thanksgiving turkeys this year. My hospitalization disrupted the critical ordering and startup window, and we were unable to get poults ordered and started on time. Rather than force it and compromise care or quality, we’ve made the decision to skip this season.
We know many of you rely on and look forward to our products, and we don’t take stepping back lightly. We’re grateful for your patience as we work through an unusually difficult stretch and try to get back under control.
