This was posted by a friend of mine, it is so beautifully written that I wanted to share:
Sometimes waiting can feel a whole lot like being forgotten.
Just because something hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean God has forgotten you.
I think that can be hard to remember.
There are seasons when it seems like everyone else has a place, a purpose, an assignment, an opportunity… and somehow you’re standing just outside the circle wondering where you fit.
Maybe you’ve prayed for something for years.
Maybe you thought life would look different by now.
Maybe you’ve watched doors open for other people while yours stayed firmly shut.
And maybe, if you’re being completely honest, you’ve wondered, “Lord, did You forget about me?”
I don’t believe He did.
Isaiah says it beautifully:
“When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
I love that.
Not on my timetable.
Not necessarily the way I pictured it.
But in His time.
Abraham waited.
Joseph waited.
David waited.
Elizabeth and Zacharias waited.
And while they waited, life kept happening.
That may be the part I need to remember most.
Waiting on the Lord doesn’t mean life stops while we wait. We keep loving, serving, learning, praying, laughing, helping where we can, and moving forward—trusting that He sees farther down the road than we do.
And maybe the waiting itself is doing something in us that we cannot see yet.
I’m learning that being asked to wait is not the same thing as being left out.
A quiet season can still be a meaningful season.
And just because someone else’s purpose is easier to see doesn’t mean yours isn’t there.
Some answers come quickly.
Some come after years.
And some may look entirely different from what we imagined.
But I believe God is still writing the story.
So if you’re in a waiting season right now, keep walking.
You are not outside God’s plan.
You may simply be somewhere in the middle of the story. 💛
