Today was finally the day to start milling our wood for the board and batten siding on the barn. After a lot of learning of what not to do (lol) I finished with the practice log and then was able to have a lot of success on the first good log. So six boards out of that log treated them for mold prevention and then stacked them for drying. Always the most work for the initial success!

Big milestone for our new sawmill. Hoisted the sawmill head and spend the day making all of the adjustments to the blades, tracking, etc. Ready to mill! Just a little sketch getting that sawmill head loaded up there. :)

Sawmill platform is finally completed. Now to place all of the sawmill track sections onto the platform and then a long process to get all of that perfectly squared and leveled.

Cutting the sawmill posts in the rain and mud and no power. STILL havin fun. All the posts are cut. Time for the beams to be glued and screwed!

Big milestone on the sawmill assembly. The entire sawmill head is fully assembled and ready to be lifted up onto the tracks. Quite an assembly project. Now I need to finish the platform which is its own major project. Getting closer!
