Some people don’t just join a barn- they bring it to life.
That’s exactly what Stephanie Rodman of SR Performance Horse’s horses as done at our farm.
Every month another trailer pulls in carrying some pretty dang snazzy horses for training. That, or Andy is being dispatched for pickup all over the place! We've added fencing. She's filled it. We've added run-ins and stalls. She's filled those too.
As impressive as Stephanie is as a horsewoman and trainer, the thing worth truly admiring isn’t the number of horses in the pasture.
It's who she is when nobody is watching, and the reputation she’s building.
She's the trainer who sees a horse panicking in a trailer at a show and goes running to help.
She's the instructor who will literally take the show shirt off her own back and give it to a young girl who forgot hers.
She's the person handing someone her own bridle when theirs breaks at a show.
She’s the rare kind of instructor who doesn't just teach a lesson and move on to the next name on the schedule. She gives each of her students her undivided attention. She celebrates their victories, coaches them through their struggles, and genuinely wants to see every single one of them succeed. If we’re honest with ourselves, sometimes she’s more therapist than instructor… but that’s what her students need sometimes!
There's no ego required. Just a classy, hardworking woman who shows up for her horses, her students, and the people around her.
And people notice.
Our farm has gotten busier. Our barn family has gotten bigger. New horses and people keep walking through the doors. There is an energy here that wasn't here before, and Stephanie has played an enormous part in creating it.
She’s even the one behind us having our first horse show!
Not only did she encourage us to take that leap, but SR Performance Horses is co-hosting our very first show with us, and she's been right beside us pushing us to keep growing, improving, and thinking bigger.
And we know "bigger" is exactly where she's headed.
Because when you're talented at what you do, AND you're the kind of person people genuinely want to learn from, ride with, send their horses to, and have standing beside them at the gate... good things tend to happen.
Stephanie, we are ridiculously proud to have SR Performance Horses call our farm home. Thank you for believing in what we're building here, for pushing us to keep making it better, and most importantly, for bringing so many wonderful horses and people into our little corner of the world.
You've brought a whole lot of life to this farm - and I don't think you're anywhere close to finished yet. ❤️
