I’ve blossomed over the years, and I’m more than okay with looking and feeling better as I get older.
When I was younger, I was insecure. I didn’t know my worth, and I accepted far less than I deserved. “You’re the ugly friend.” “You look so old.” “Wear makeup.” I was constantly picked on, and back then, I hadn’t found my voice or learned how to stand up for myself.
But I have now.
Being in relationships that hurt me and surviving domestic violence left marks deeper than anyone could see. I never deserved that treatment. Through healing, I’ve come to recognize my worth and understand that love should never cost me my safety, my peace, or myself.
Today, I’m wiser, more confident, clear-minded, and beautiful. I don’t give a f**k what people say about me anymore. I spent too many years letting other people’s words shape how I saw myself.
I look how I look, and I love the woman I see. I love her for everything she’s survived, everything she’s learning, and the woman she’s becoming.
I’m still growing. I’m still blossoming. And my best is yet to come. 💜
