Spirit of the Week: Operations in Motion

Welcome to our 2nd cohort of interns! We’re thrilled you’re here and look forward to all you will accomplish.

The squad just got bigger and we're ready to shake things up! This week was ALL about movement: new interns = more energy, VolunCheers kickoff = giving back in style, Karena Niblett (VP, Operations in MO) and Jon Ward (Director, Security in MO) helped the interns understand the logistics journey from dock to dram while Allison Hupp (Director, Product Education) gave us a deeper appreciation for the work behind every pour. This is peak pour-formance, no cap just corkscrews!

Pop the cork! Our interns got an exclusive look inside the global beverage powerhouse, Pernod Ricard. Absolut-ly iconic brands like Absolut, Jameson, Malibu and Chivas Regal—we learned what makes these legends tick. When you blend SGWS partnership with powerhouse suppliers, that's the recipe for success. No chaser needed. Makesha Wagner from the Talent Growth and Culture Development team led a Personal Operating Guidelines workshop, because knowing your value is like having the perfect cocktail recipe for life.

The "Alcohol Education: Safe and Smart" course equips all students, regardless of their current drinking habits or intentions, with practical skills to navigate these very real scenarios.

Since 2016, we’ve helped 61,000 students in over 350 schools. And we won’t stop there. We are committed to providing students with the confidence to make responsible decisions.

Dawson Dubberke, Commercial Finance Analyst, shares a special story from his start at Southern Glazer's:

"In my first year at Southern Glazer's, while I was working as an Admin Assistant, we were in search of a space where we could hold General Sales Meetings. It was held at Lush, a local gay bar, making use of their theater. I couldn’t help but be a bit concerned about a bunch of mostly straight salespeople descending on an important institution in the Minneapolis q***r community. Despite my worries, any commentary I heard about where we were meeting was positive: be it stories about people’s fun nights out at Lush or compliments on the décor or laughing about our General Manager giving his state of the company address with portraits of Madonna and Cher looking on."

We strive to make every day with Southern Glazer's just as accepting and supportive for all. Thanks for sharing, Dawson. ❤️

From AI to innovation, we're not just keeping up with the times, we are setting the standard! Terri Jordan from the Talent Growth & Culture Development team helped the interns crack the code on DiSC profiles by identifying their personality and behavioral styles. Turns out, understanding yourself is the ultimate cheat code for teamwork. Know thyself, grow thyself. That's the spirit!
