As Food As It Gets

As Food As It Gets As good as food gets. Just two girls eating their way from New York to Miami and anywhere in between.

I have a new Sunday morning problem and it’s called Collective Bakery. 🥐
In a country where everything closes on Sundays, somehow the best bakery in Zurich stays open. And once you’ve had their pastries there is no going back to anything else.
This is now our Sunday ritual. Thiago in the stroller, Fred carrying the bag, me pretending I’m only going to get one thing.
I never get one thing.

Raising a Claude baby. These are the questions I ask at 3am. 🤍

Motherhood in a new country hits different when your village is an ocean away and your most consulted resource at 3am is an AI.

No judgment. Claude has never once made me feel bad for asking the same wake window question for the sixth time. Well only once… 😅

If you’re a new mom googling or using AI your way through this, you’re doing great. We all are. 🤍

1. How to get him to sleep through the night. Asked this so many times Claude probably feels sorry for me.

2. Wake windows for his age. Asked Claude this at every single age. Every. Single. One. Entertaining your baby is hard.

3. How long do sleep regressions last. Spoiler: longer than you think. I shed a tear reading the answer.

4. Ferber method yes or no. Asked Claude at 3am if I pick him up out of the crib or not. Felt guilty. Closed the app. Reopened it twenty minutes later. Still undecided.

5. How many ounces should a baby drink. Asked this every time he had a growth spurt and every time I convinced myself I was starving him. I was not starving him.

6. Feeding schedule with meals and bottles. Claude helped me make a color coded schedule. I am that mom now. Pro tip: use the huckleberry app to track everything

7. Rolling milestones. Asked before he rolled. Asked if it causes a sleep regression. Asked if he’s supposed to roll back. Then asked if he’s ahead of his milestones.

8. When do babies crawl. Asked before he crawled. Asked again the day he started crawling just to confirm it was actually happening. It was.

9. When do babies sleep through the night. Currently asking Claude this as we speak.

10. Is this teething or is he just a baby. Claude said “it could be both.” Not helpful. Asked again anyway.

Shoutout to Claude for being available at 3am, never sighing at my questions, and somehow making me feel like a competent mom even when I absolutely was not. We’re raising Thiago together at this point. 🤍
