Meet Yuzu ✨
The most expensive citrus most people have never tasted.
A single fresh Yuzu can cost five to ten dollars in US specialty stores. Most of the world’s supply comes from Japan. The trees take a decade to bear fruit. Harvest is by hand.
The reason chefs treat it like gold: crack one open and the room shifts. Lemon, mandarin, grapefruit and a floral note that perfumers have chased for decades.
Yuzu has been treasured in East Asian culinary tradition for over a thousand years. It is a staple of Japanese haute cuisine and Korean tea ceremony.
Fresh Yuzu was not legally importable to the US in commercial quantities until the early 2000s.
Most US ready-to-drink beverages skip it. We loved it so we did not.
Please drink responsibly. 21+
