As it creeps up on the midnight hour on the eve of the celebrated birth of our Savior, I will once again share my story from 2012. My grandpa always said that the animals talked on Christmas Eve at midnight…but only IF you were quiet and they didn’t hear you in the barn ❤️
A little Christmas story..
so tonight, the eve of Christmas, we return home from church and family visits.. It is late...around midnight or so, the kids go to bed, Ron and I finish a few things in preparation for the morning, and then do a late feed of the cattle. Upon coming back into the warm house I realize that I forgot to feed the cats. It is now 1:00 a.m and being Christmas I warmed up a nice cozy little bowl of cream-of-wheat and head back out to the barn to warm their bellies ...............It's dark, the snow is falling lazily. I quietly open the barn door as to not startle the cows.....AND......on the radio is a violin playing "Silent Night". The cows were munching their hay and the cats eating too....I just sat on a haybale and listened...... OVERWHELMING!!! HERE IN A BARN! JUST LIKE THIS! OUR KING WAS BORN!! ....the smell of cow, the smell of hay, the smell of manure.....what a beautiful moment...I can't even describe..so very humbling the presence of Jesus!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR LORD!!!
