We’ve had a strong run getting crops in the ground, and conditions have lined up well — but here’s an important reminder as we push forward.

Knowing when to start planting is always a tough call… but knowing when to STOP can be even tougher.

With rain in the forecast this Saturday, it’s critical to think ahead. Ideally, we want to be shut down 24–48 hours before a significant rain event. That window allows seed zones to settle properly and helps ensure more uniform emergence once conditions improve.

Pushing right up against a big rain can create sidewall compaction, crusting, and uneven stands — all things that are hard to fix after the fact.

Be patient, stay disciplined, and keep the long-term crop in mind. A clean start sets the tone for the entire season.
