Who remembers when hacky sacks were EVERYWHERE?

You couldn’t walk through a school parking lot, park, or mall in the 90s without seeing somebody kicking one around. And honestly, they never should’ve disappeared.

No batteries. No screens. No subscriptions. Just pure skill, coordination, and boredom-busting fun.

So I decided to bring a little bit of that nostalgia back — Wellspring & Wild style 😉

These crocheted hacky sacks are handmade right here on our Middle Valley homestead and have the perfect squish and weight for kicking, tossing, fidgeting, or stress-relieving.

And yes… I even recreated a vintage ad for them because the vibes demanded it 😂

I love seeing kids getting back into simple, old-school fun that doesn't require WiFi, a charger, or a monthly subscription. Just grab a hacky sack, head outside, and suddenly everyone's laughing, moving, and actually interacting again.

And let's be honest... they're pretty satisfying for adults too 😅 Stress ball, fidget toy, boredom buster, random living room competition starter... these little things do it all.

This little duckling was born with a foot deformity. Unfortunately, between him being raised by mama and being mixed in with 12 other ducklings, we didn't catch this until yesterday. I researched treatment options and it seems that some intensive swim therapy is our best option. So little Corvis Jr is having a spa day today! With supervision, of course.

Lately I’ve been reminding myself that even slow progress is still progress. Some mornings feel heavy, some feel hopeful, and most are a mix of both. But there’s something comforting about knowing God meets us in all of it — the chaos, the exhaustion, the rebuilding, the waiting.

I was removing webs from around the front porch when I spotted this beauty — a Furrow Orb-weaver.

These spiders are incredible little architects, spinning those classic circular orb webs that seem to appear overnight. Even crazier? Many of them rebuild their entire web almost every night, often eating the old silk first to recycle the protein.

They may look spooky, but they’re harmless to people and amazing natural pest control for mosquitoes, flies, and moths. Nature’s tiny night-shift exterminators. 🕸️🕷

9 drakes (male ducks) in this area and this guy is definitely top dog. Every time the pool gets refilled, he gets first dibs and refuses to let anyone in until he's done. One of the perks of being the alpha male, I guess 😆
