Planning to try some hand pollinating of some specimen trees this year. Specifically, Nordmann Fir (pollen-male flower) with Fraser Fir and Turkish Fir (cones-female flowers). Collecting pollen below from Nordmann Fir pollen sacs. The Fraser and Turkish Fir cones are not ready (viable) yet so it now becomes a waiting game. The Turkish Fir cones are getting close to viability but the Fraser Fir cones are just emerging. Matchmaker, matchmaker make me a match! 😅
