Harvest looks a little different at Boxwood this year.
Earlier this year, a devastating freeze swept through Virginia just after bud break, taking nearly 75% of our crop with it. For a small, estate-grown winery like ours, the impact is significant.
But farming is part of wine. And farming means adapting, working hard, and showing up even in the difficult seasons.
Our vineyard team is back in the rows, carefully harvesting what we were fortunate enough to save. Because of the freeze, 2026 will be a very different vintage for us, and we will only be producing our Crémant this year. 🥂
Every bottle of wine has a story long before it reaches your glass , the soil, the vines, the weather, the hands that care for them, and sometimes, the challenges that Mother Nature brings our way.
