We had a beautiful weekend surrounded by extended family and relatives of Seed Keepers, Corn Growers and Stewarts of our Rotinonshónni food ways. Grateful for the invitation to be apart of the Braiding the Sacred Gathering hosted by The Tonawanda Council of Cheifs, Tonawanda Ag Society and Braiding the Sacred. Every year we have been planting our Rotinonshónni seeds not only as a food source but as an offering to the land , in honor of our Ancestors that still walk the fields in this valley, an acknowledgement of their presence and sacrifice that was made 100s of years ago when our people were the main care takers of this valley.

We brought back rematriated ancestral Mohawk beans and one of our original Rotinonshónni Strawberry Popcorn seeds that will be planted in the coming weeks as not only a reclamation of our spirits but as a reminder to all that we are still here, Iohskóhare (Schoharie Valley) is still alive and thriving. We have not forgotten our ways 🌱

Every year, we get questions about strawberries. For the 2026 season, we will not have U-Pick Strawberries. For the past 3 years our main focus was to pay off our mortgage and this year we plan to hit that mark successfully! Because we have been grant based throughout our operations, we have been using our funds mainly for general operations, farm upkeep and loan repayment. We have yet to work with a full budget dedicated to expanding our farms potential and crop production. Next season 2027 will be epic, we promise!!! This year we will celebrate a huge milestone of being rooted in our ancestral homelands.

Some future goals will be to have no spray U-pick Strawberry fields reestablished and more manageable for our team. 🍓

As always, we are grateful for the support from you all. We can't wait to see you all this coming season, stay tuned for opening day!

Also look out for some upcoming dates on our Seedling sale, we have 100s of starter plants for you to purchase and bring home to your gardens, all NON-GMO, Organic and Heirloom seed varieties 🌱

Humbly we are excited to share a glimpse of Skywomans Forever Farm with you all on the newest episode of PBS Wild Foods. You can find the full show on their website https://www.pbs.org/video/adirondacks-upstate-new-york-ea5cMB/

Niawenkó:wa (Big Thank You) to you all for all the love and support these past 3 years. From our onkwehonwe communities to our funders and supporters, our vision and mission continues to grow.

Were headed into a new season with over 1000 plants started in our greenhouse and we are so excited to share the abundance of clean food with all that comes to see us this year. We are a fiscally sponsored food sovereignty initiative, restoring one of our ancestral villages in the Schoharie Valley focusing on remediation of our soil and growing no spray berries and veggies.

If youd like to donate to our farm, we would be ever grateful. To learn more you can subscribe to our website at skywomansforeverfarm.org and also visit our current fundraising page at gofundme.com/mohawkreturn
