State show was one for books. we may have only been there for 30 hours but it was a great time. It really starts with great partners like jd & bec Wicker and family. They allowed us to parter with this little cow called Barbie as 2yr old. Barbie is the dream cow cause she does everything with ease, after some calving complications in late march she has gone above any beyond expectations this year. By scoring Ex92 Ex93 ma just 3 weeks fresh while milking 135lbs a day. This week she was ivf on tue then wait for the temperature to break before making the 5 minute drive to indiana state holstein show Friday morning. Then today she looked good as ever and went on to winning the 4yr class before being named Sr champion then ultimately, Reserve Grand Champion of the show. Her full name is Maple-slope lambda Barbie-et. Ex92 ex93 ma. It takes a team to make everything come together just right to walk out of the ring with a purple banner at the end of the day. I want to thank our partners jd & Bec Wicker Wicker family for helping out and a big thank to Oliver Nisen Nisenfancy Holsteins getting her dialed in. And thanks to my parents for keeping this going at home. An congrats to Mike Lortie an family on having grand champion she is one heck of a cow. Thank to dairy agenda for online coverage and taking photos. And thanks to Phil Topp for coming over and and being the official judge of the show.
