A great joy sharing our farming knowledge and experiences at the Catholic Land Movement Conference teaching families how to begin & improve maple syrup farming on their homesteads. The attendees particularly enjoyed hearing from two brothers who caused much laughter, while teaching a practical skill. The conference brought together 650+ people and we had 60+ at our workshop session. Let's all work together reviving agricultural skills like collecting sap from the maple trees and making delicious maple syrup!

Maple farming requires a long term vision. We planted maple trees amongst our Christmas trees to eventually transition the field to more maple syrup production. It takes an estimated 20-40 years for a maple tree to grow big enough for us to tap and collect sap. Mowing the field today and noticing how big some of the maples are getting! Won't be long before some are ready to get tapped!
