BIG announcement, guys.

I am proud to let you all know that I have made a huge deal with the owners of Occasional Creek Maple, and that they will be keeping all of their jobs right here in America. In addition, they will be creating SO MANY JOBS. Tree tapper. Sap Line Maintenance Foreman. Pump Operator. Transportation Specialist. Combustion Tech. Evaporation Engineer. Co-packer. Marketing. Sales. So. Many. Jobs. You don't even know.

To celebrate, we're launching the annual PRE-SALE of our delicious maple syrup! (Buy your syrup now, get it once it's made!)

Sizes and prices available this year:
Pints: $14
Quarts: $24
Half Gallons: $34

If you want to get in on this, send an email to [email protected] and let Patrick, our Inventory Futures Coordinator, know what you'd like. We'll send you an invoice via PayPal.

If you need your syrup shipped, we'll charge you exact shipping (a half gallon would be $8.25 anywhere in New England). If you want to come pick it up, even better. If you want to sweet talk us into delivering, we accept all forms of baked goods as bribes.

We've got syrup to sell!

As part of the ongoing procrastination of preparing my taxes, I'm opening this season's syrup sale. The season went well, even if we got into it later than planned. You can never say that making even only a small amount of maple syrup was a waste of time.

This works just like previous pre-sales. Send an email to [email protected] to make your request, requests made here don't count. First come get first priority.

The only bottle size we have available this season is pints, $16 apiece, and they're aren't a terrible many of them. Request as many as you'd like and we'll do our best to fill your request. We'll invoice you through Paypal or inform you if we are unable to fill your request. Let us know if you'll need shipping ($10). We'll be taking requests over the weekend, or until we're sold out.

While you ponder your maple needs, I have a date with a year's worth of bank transactions. Unless the chicken coop needs cleaning.....

Here we go. Serious freeze last night, predicted to do the same for the next 3, with warm, sunny days following. I am excited for more sap! Will it happen? Stay tuned!

I've only been sugaring for 12 years. I haven't been doing this for nearly enough time yet to have "seen it all". But If I get another run of sap off my trees during this weekends freeze/thaw cycle - after such a long period of warm days and no freeze - I think I WILL have seen it all. Buds are still not opened here. Anything could happen.

The back of the pan is where the real action's at.

Third and last day of boiling this season. The new cupola has been the best addition since the upgraded evaporator.

A completely full barrel! Gonna need to make two trips. These are problems we like to have.
