The start of the growing season is here. We spent the last two days getting all of the hay ground fertilized just in time for a little rain to put it right to work. Hopefully we can capitalize on this investment with good yields and great quality hay for our customers. 🐎🐐🐑🐖🐄

We are taking advantage of this nice stretch of weather to get some more 3rd cutting on the ground. Not sure if this will be the end of the hay season or not. We’ve run out of hay big enough to cut because of the dry conditions that continue to persist. Starting to get some nice colors in the foliage around the farm.

After a little rain this morning it turned into a beautiful day to start cutting 2nd cutting. And Vincent started plowing to get ground ready so we can get our new seedings of alfalfa timothy planted. 🌱🐎

Finally the day we’ve been looking forward to all summer…finally finished the first cutting. Been a long challenging summer to make dry hay until recently. With all of the rain we had this spring and early summer, we could really use some more now to get the second growing as its now starting to get very dry. As late as it is the hay still looks surprisingly well. Give us a call to get your barn filled up for winter. 🌱🐎🐎

Finally the weather we’ve been waiting for. Nice stretch of weather has allowed us to make some nice hay the last couple of days. With 2 balers and 3 stack wagons going we can cover a lot of ground. But still a long ways to go. 🌱🐎🐎👍

Ok Mother Nature we’ve had about enough rain for a while. 2.2 inches at the farm since Thursday afternoon on top of already saturated fields isn’t helping with the hay making. Neighbors just east of us are at 3”. I’m afraid there’s going to be a lot of late cut hay around if things don’t straighten out very soon

Decided to put a little hay on the ground this morning. Mother Nature isn’t playing very nice this year so far. Ground is absolutely saturated under all of this beautiful hay. We don’t like making tracks in the hayfields but I guess we have try and start somewhere. Going to take lots of tedding to get all of the juice out of it. Hopefully we can get it baled by Wednesday before the next round of rain comes in. 🤞🤞
