🌱🚜 From May through late summer and into early fall, hay season is top of mind for many farmers. For a lot of us, that first cutting of hay lines up right around Memorial Day weekend—a sure sign that the busy season is here!

We’re always excited to get that first crop harvested and put up, knowing it plays such an important role in feeding our cows and keeping the farm running strong all year long. Here’s to a safe and successful hay season ahead! 🌾💪

Milk labels can feel confusing -- but they're actually pretty simple once you break them down. 🥛

Here's what you're really looking at when you pick up a carton:
-Whole Milk - contains about 3.25% milk fat. Creamier texture, richer taste.
-2% Milk (Reduced Fat)- About 2% milk fat. A balance between flavor and lower fat.
-1% Milk (Low Fat) - Around 1% milk fat. Lighter option with fewer calories.
-Skim Milk (Fat-Free) - Less than 0.5% milk fat. No fat, but still packed with protein and calcium.

Other Labels:
-Pasteurized: milk has been heated to kill harmful bacteria and make it safe to drink
-Homogenized: The fat is evenly distributed so it doesn't separate
-rBST- free: milk comes from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones (Important: all milk is tested to ensure safety regardless)
Organic: From cows fed organic feed and raised under specific standards.

All milk types contain the same essential nutrients -- and the biggest difference is fat content, taste, and calories.
So the "best" choice? It depends on your preference and lifestyle.

From one ingredient, we get:
-Cheese
-Butter
-Yogurt
-Cream

Each product is made by adjusting temperature, bacteria cultures, or fat content. It's science you can taste.
