When Koehley at River's Harvest Farm LLC handed me turnips I was stumped. What was I going to make with a turnip at a bakery? Many hours of research later, I discovered that original Scottish and Irish traditions related to Hallowmas, they would carve turnips and use the scraps to make Neep cake. Think carrot cake, but better (if that’s possible). Slather a maple cream cheese glaze on top and abracadabra, we have an appropriate October mini cake special.
