We got our first swarm call of the season today here at Honey Haven Farm. Swarms are a natural part of how honeybees create new colonies. When the existing colony becomes too crowded, a large amount of worker bees will leave with the queen bee in search of a place to build a new colony. Before the bees find a new place to call home, they will gather together on tree branches, fences, or other surfaces while scout bees look for an ideal location. This occurs most commonly between the months of April and June.
If you find a swarm, we will come and remove it free of charge. Just give us a text or call at (707) 331-5494 or send a message here on Facebook.
